This year's winter concert was held for the first time in St Leonard's Church, Eynsham.
There was a friendly welcome and the warm church soon filled up. The Freeland Orchestra
started the concert with the overture to "La Clemenza di Tito" by Mozart which was
delicately played with an excellent woodwind section. This was followed by Suite
no.4 by Tchaikovsky which was inspired by 3 other composers including Mozart whose
Ave Maria theme was particularly sensitively played. The final movement, Theme and
Variations, was particularly good at showing off the various sections of the orchestra.
